Jan 2, 2009 FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The men's basketball team continues its five-game road trip by heading to Iona College on Sunday afternoon. The game will mark the second and final time that these two teams meet in 2008-09. The Stags come off an 87-81 decision against Siena College on New Year's Day, the team's first road game in conference play. Jonathan Han tallied a team-high 22 points in the game and continues to lead the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game. The Gaels are looking for their first MAAC win this season, dropping to 0-3 after a 68-54 setback to Rider University in New Rochelle. Gary Springer returned to the lineup in the Rider game after missing several games with an injury.

Dec 23, 2008 FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University men's basketball radio network increased its outreach with the addition of six stations that will give the Stags coverage throughout the state of Connecticut with signal reach into New York state and Massachusetts. Beginning with the Fairfield-UConn game on December 26, WDRC-1360AM (Hartford), WMMW-1470AM (Meriden), WWCO-1240AM (Waterbury) and WSNG-610AM (Torrington) will carry nearly all games for the remainder of the season. WNLK-1350 AM (Norwalk) and WSTC-1400 AM (Stamford) will broadcast all weekday games. Fairfield University added WGCH-1490 AM (Greenwich) last season, which paired up with campus radio station WVOF-88.5 FM to broaden the basketball team's scope throughout Fairfield County. "We're pleased to be working with Fairfield University to provide their Men's Basketball games nearly statewide coverage for Stags' fans of all ages through our Talk of Connecticut network of stations including WDRC-1360AM," said Laura Kittell, manager of operations for the Talk of Connecticut network. Bob Heussler is in his 20 th season as the Stags' play-by-play announcer while John Cummings is in his 15 th season as the color commentator.

Dec 12, 2008 FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's basketball team will host Drexel University in a non-conference game on December 14. The Stags bring a six-game winning streak into the game, which includes four non-conference wins. Fairfield posted a 69-66 win over Fordham in its last outing, the second straight contest in which the Stags hit a game-winning three-point basket with under five seconds remaining in regulation. Against Fordham, Lyndon Jordan netted the game-winner, his only points of the game. Jonathan Han leads the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game, slightly higher than Warren Edney's 12.0 scoring average. Drexel plays its fifth game of the season and owns a 2-2 record after dropping consecutive games to Georgetown and George Mason.
